Calling all Meteor Garden fans - old and new alike - because Jerry Yan and Shen Yue have officially finished filming their new romantic drama Count Your Lucky Stars 交换吧运气! Jerry Yan actually completed his scenes a week earlier than Shen Yue who worked through the night until around 5am yesterday. The actress joked that only those who were not asleep would even know that she has wrapped.

This will be Jerry Yan's comeback drama after years of absence from the small screen. I don't know if he's just really made for these kind of roles but once again, we see the charismatic actor giving life to an arrogant male lead. His pairing with the much younger Shen Yue caused quite a stir because of their age gap and while I normally don't have a problem with that, I was quite concerned with this one. Who knows? They both have great visuals so maybe they can pull this off and make an unexpected hit like Gong Yoo and Kim Go-eun in Goblin

Count Your Lucky Stars follows the two leads who share an accidental kiss that results in their luck getting switched. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the heated arguments and fireworks. Besides, it's Jerry Yan we're talking about. The drama is expected to air some time in 2020 on streaming site Youku and I hope we get an air date soon!

The cast also includes La Mu Yang Zi, Miles Wei Zheming, Stephanie Shen Yao, Wang Sen, Li Yuyang, Josephine Yu Silu and Yammi Bao Yaming

  1. The writer be talking as if Jerry Yan is still relevant in this era lol. Even Show Luo more relevant than him. Only auntie fans still be excited about Jerry Yan.

    1. I hope you reflect on your comment. First, you question the author of the article. She/He is entitled to her/his opinion. You might not believe Jerry Yan is still relevant but that doesn't mean you need to belittle others whose opinion isnt the same. Second, I hope you realize one day you will be of an age for those auntie/uncle you address so respectfully. One day whoever you stan right now will also reach such age too. When that day comes, I hope you will still stan that person. When other fans start saying the popularity/'relevance' of that person you stan atm has faded, the loyalty of his/her fans will be his/her source of comfort/strength. It would be a pity if you will prove to be a fickle fan.

  2. Of course, he's still relevant. Not a lot of actors from his generation could sustain his popularity after almost 2 decades, spanning across the globe.

What's the point of comparing him to Show Luo though? No need to drag one down if your point is just to say that another person is more relevant.

Also, sorry to burst your bubble but I'm only in my early 20's and still as excited to see him. Trust me, there are many others too.

    1. Not surprised there are still his fans who live in delusional. They think this early 2000s era. How is he even popular and relevant lmfao.

Flop as actor as well as singer. Doesn't have many hit dramas and hasn't acted or release song for long time because no one cares about him. Even his comeback is a mediocre drama with mediocre pairing.

42 years old but hardly have relevant awards throughout his career. Cant compare to Show Luo. Jerry Yan is totally a has-been for long time already. Just accept the fact.

  3. This is the most tragic pairing I've seen. How did these two become so unlucky to be paired with each other. There are many other romance drama with young and good looking pairing these days people would prefer to watch.

  4. Oh dear, so sorry that your life has become so boring that you would resort to bashing an actor who has done absolutely nothing to offend you. Oh wait, you must have been offended by his age? Let's wait until you're 42 and see if you will have a huge amount of supporters and projects to boot. If you could, then I'll whole-heartedly accept your claims :)

Also, how are we delusional that we're in the 2000's if a lot of us got to know him beyond those years lol. For the record, he has not been picking up projects because he believes in quality over quantity. I can even list down all the projects that he has rejected but that might take me a long time. (Not to mention that he had serious health problems that required him to rest!)

Now tell me who's not relevant now.

Again, you did not even answer me in my previous comment. Why are we even bringing up Show Luo here?! Yes, he has had acting projects before but he's mostly known as an entertainer/singer so what's your point? He was also good colleagues with Jerry so why pit the 2 men against each other for your senseless hate?

I can go on and on and rebutt all your statements but go on believe with whatever you think is right :)

Hope you find a hobby where you can spend your time constructively! I'm quite alarmed that you chose hating as a hobby especially that people have been literally dying because of it. Be kind and sensitive.

    P. S. Whoever you are stanning (best bet is Show or some other artists), you probably wouldn't even know them if it weren't for Jerry (rest of MG cast too) who opened the Asian wave of entertainment in the 2000s.
