C-drama Ratings and Celeb Rankings (week starting Nov 19)

CSM52 Cities + Online

After what feels like a very long run due to the schedule changes, All Out Of Love finally ended last week, which gives me an excuse to use a Ma Tianyu poster. The show pulled in ratings around 0.5% putting it in fifth place after the primetime dramas. It ranks in fourth online. The Family has been the consistent leader on TV ever since it premiered and it pushes higher to reach 1.3%. Our Glamorous Time places in second though it has yet to clear that initial hurdle of breaking past 1.0%.

The top 3 dramas online are the same from previous week with Our Glamorous Time topping the list again. Jin Han has been gaining attention as Zhao Liying's leading man and he joins her on the top 10 celebs (maybe for the first time in his career).

CSM Nationwide

The Family still leads CSM Nationwide on most days with Our Glamorous Time coming in as a very close second. Both shows have reached a high of 0.7%.

  1. I can't believe my girl Yang Zi is still up there in top 10 celebs. I do wonder how long she's going to stay. I'm just content and happy she's finally making a splash.

  2. Those stats you have up there does not account for iqiyi views as you claimed in the notes. I use to think that dramapanda is the place to come for the most up to date information and thought I could rely on the numbers you post up. But this website has proven on many occasions that you constantly mess up and don't make corrections even after being corrected. You made an error on last week's posting too. Now I realize its best to go to the original source. There are many times you post up news that are so vague, I have to go to other websites to look for the full coverage. You barely ever cover the biggest scandals or anything that's in the headlines in mainland China. Even when you do, you're days or weeks late, or you dont follow up on it. What's the latest on Gavin Gao or Fan Bing Bing or Jiang Jinfu? Instead you do posts about big and small hands. I keep holding onto hope that one day the news you cover will be the ones I see trending in China. But nope its been a year now! This is just constructive criticism and I know some agree with me because I've seen remarks like mine before. I really do hope you improve.

    1. I do agree with a few errors sometimes and some delays too but i still enjoy coming to this site but if u want gossips maybe u should check out Jayne Stars and Koala's playground, those have the biggest gossips and most not very factual either imo.

    2. Sorry, again. These ratings are killing me. The honest answer is the notes which have always been there were overlooked. Have edited to account for iQiYi removing their view count functionality.

    3. Gavin Gao?? Thought that was so over a long time ago already, it's not a hot thing anymore. No interest in that. Jiang Jinfu??? I saw 2-3 posts already, it's too much and getting so repetitive and annoying!
Fan Binbing, is it still just the tax evasion too?? No thanks, when other top celebs get caught like FBB then I would like to read but no more repeating news please.

    4. I think Anne is doing a great job with this blog, I enjoy the all the information that is posted. @ the 1st Anonymous post- I'd like to see you put all the work that goes into translating articles and maintaining a blog. If you have nothing nice to say, then don't read or comment here!

    5. This blog is doing great. It's detailed in explaining things and I'm glad it's rarely a gossip/rumor site nor trying to bring opinion pieces so people can come bash on celebs. Keep up the great work! Sure there's minor problems with the viewership # but China's online views are kinda unaccurate sometimes too. Recently just heard rumors of online views magically disappear so you shouldn't be so harsh. Also come into light how some ratings are bought so I think it's extremely minor the problem with the #'s.

  3. Aw, this web is still good. Informative and pretty relevant web. I don’t expect it is fast as those news websites as people run this web do not earn any profits.

Used to like to visit Koalaplayground but now that blog/ web becomes a gossip place and full of biased remarks from the owner. Of course it is still a personal blog but now it is more like a gossip personal blog rather a blog of discussions about dramas and TV shows.

  4. I think it’s great that there are blogs like this - I don’t expect super accurate information. Keep up the great work Anne!

  5. I also greatly enjoy the information, news and ratings on this blog. There isn't a great blog like this which offers such an interesting mix and regular ratings news and many of us appreciate it. Keep up the great work!

As for the anon above with your rude comments. Why don't you post somewhere else if all you have to contribute is rudeness?

    1. I’ve contributed more than rudeness. I’ve given constructive criticism so this blog can improve. Dramapanda rarely brings the latest hot topics that’s trending in mainland China. Did you hear about the uproar and criticism the Golden Eagle Awards received for giving Dilraba the best actress award? That was getting massive attention all over the Internet for weeks. Did you hear about it here at dramapanda? My suggestion about Jiang Jingfu was not merely a suggestion because I am a fan, because I am not. A blog should bring the latest hot topics, and look at the newest entry about Jiang Jingfu. It finally got members hitting the link and commenting.

I come here for the ratings since it’s easier than trying to read Chinese and almost every other week there is a mistake. I understand working with numbers and names in a foreign language it’s hard to be perfect, but they have members who trust them as an English source. But making a mistake like saying Glamorous Times hit 6.5 billion when it only hit 650 million in my opinion is a huge discrepancy. Perhaps my approach sounds rude to you, but without people like me there would be people like you who would be misinformed.

To dramapanda as I said in my comment on another page, I’m grateful for the updates you bring but would also like you to pay attention to detail in reporting because readers like me want to trust you as an English source. Also you may not be fans of celebs in the news but their scandals will bring you more views and more reader interaction. Example the latest on Jiang Jingfu. Thank you for the updates you provide and I do hope you can improve.
